Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Eligibility Criteria and Merit Preparation criterion for Admission to Institute Level Seats of Various Programmes:-

Should have passed the 10+2 examination from recognized Board/University with minimum 65% marks in aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:

  • Chemistry (b) Bio-Technology (c) Computer Science (d) Biology.

Admission on the basis of JEE Mains rank 2014 (1st preference) and marks in qualifying examination (2nd preference).

B Tech Lateral Entry (CSE, ECE, IT & ME)

For Diploma & BSc students

3 Years

  • Should have passed Diploma Course in Engineering & Technology of three years duration or more with minimum 60% marks in aggregate, from State Board of Technical Education, Haryana or its equivalent.
  • Should have passed BSc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.
  • Provided that in case of students belonging to BSc stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering programme along with the second year subjects.
  • Provided further that the students belonging to BSc stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
  • Provided further that students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology from an AICTE approved institution or BSc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering degree courses subject to vacancies in the first year class in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

Admission on the basis of merit of online entrance test-OLET (LEET)- 2014 to be conducted by HSTES (1st preference) and marks scored in qualifying examination (2nd preference).

M TECH IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING

2 years

  • First preference will be given to candidate having B E/B Tech in Computer Engineering/Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Technology/Information Technology/MCA with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and valid GATE score in Computer Engg.

(b) Second preference will be given to B E/B Tech in Electronics Engg/Electrical Engg/M Sc Computer/M Sc Electronics, M Sc IT with minimum\60% marks or equivalent and valid GATE score in Computer Engg.

(c) Third preference will go to B E/B Tech in Electronics Engg, Electrical Engg/M Sc Computer/M Sc Electronics, M Sc IT/M Sc Software/M Sc Maths, M Sc Statistics and M Sc Physics with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and valid GATE score in respective branches.

(d) Fourth preference will go to B E/B Tech in Electronics Engg, Electrical Engg/M Sc Computer/M Sc Electronics, M Sc IT/M Sc Software/M Sc Maths, M Sc Statistics and MSc Physics with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and without GATE score.

M TECH IN ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

2 years

(a) First preference will be given to B E/B Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and with valid GATE score in Electronics & Communication Engineering.

(b) Second preference will be given to B E/B Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Instrumentation Control/ Instrumentation & Control/Electrical Instrumentation & Control/Instrumentation & Control/ Instrumentation Engineering/Control Engineering/Electronics Engineering with minimum 60% marks or equivalent in aggregate along with valid GATE score in Electronics & Communication Engineering.

  • Third preference will be given to the disciplines as indicated in (b) above but with valid GATE score in respective branches.
  • Fourth preference will be given to B E/B Tech in Electronics & Communication Engg with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and without GATE score.
  • Fifth preference will be given to the disciplines as indicated in (b) above but without GATE score.

M TECH IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

2 years

  • First preference will be given to B E/B Tech in Mechanical Engg/Production Engg/Automobile Engg or equivalent with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and valid GATE score.

(b) Second preference will be given to B E/B Tech in Mechanical Engg with minimum 60% marks or equivalent and without valid GATE score.

MCA

3 Years

Should have minimum 50% marks in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level.
OR
Should have minimum 50% marks in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects.
OR
Should be a pass in BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks

Admission on the basis of the merit of online entrance test-OLET (MCA) 2014 conducted by HSTES (1st preference) and marks scored in qualifying examination (2nd preference)

MBA

2 years

Should have minimum 55% marks in Bachelor’s or Post Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.
OR
Pass in final examination conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountant of India/Institute of
Costs and Works Accountants of India/Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of:

  • CMAT score September 2013 or February 2014.
  • Group discussion and personal interview to be conducted by the Department of Business Administration, MRCE.

Note: A relaxation of 5% shall be given in the minimum eligibility to girl candidates and candidates belonging to SC category.

* For merit list preparation criterion, for filling of seats through Haryana State Technical Education Society, candidates are advised to refer to HSTES websites http://techeduhry.nic.in, http://hstes.in, and http://hstes.net.in. The minimum eligibility for admission to these seats shall remain same as for institute level seats.
