The objective of Physics Department is to impart adequate fundamental knowledge of Physics to engineering graduates so that the students have a basis for a complete understanding of current and future scientific and technological developments. The department collaborates with the technical departments and provides scientific stimuli so as to build solid foundations in new emerging technologies.

The department provides good infrastructure to its students. The labs are well equipped with modern sophisticated equipments as per the curriculum of MD University. Highly qualified faculties, coming from premier institutions, make sure about the good pedagogy. Department also motivates research work that results in the publication of articles and research papers in journals of international repute. At present the research is being focused in the field of Atmospheric Science, Nanotechnology, Condensed Matter Physics, Photonics and High Energy Physics.
