FUNCTIONING OF MRCE

The policies and practices of MRCE are defined through a decentralized structure that consists of the following bodies.

ACADEMIC COMMITTEE.

Functions: Lays down academic policy for UG and PG education; R&D consultancy and academic/industrial collaborations.

The Committee monitors examination results and student attendance as well as feedback on courses; recommends introduction of new elective courses and supports special measures for weak and advanced learners etc.

RESEARCH COMMITTEE

Functions: Facilitating and monitoring research activities at MRCE. It lays down R&D standards, publication standards; issues calls for funding from the R&D Fund of MRCE and facilitates interaction with peer academic and industrial organizations.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Functions: This Committee considers budgets and funding required for various activities of the college. It exercises financial control on MRCE.

STUDENTS ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE

Functions: Encouraging and facilitating students participation in various creative activities – technical, cultural, literary and sports- both intra and inter College. The Committee arranges EPIPHANY, the College festival and runs specialized activities through a number of student clubs.

PROCTORIAL COMMITTEE

Functions: This committee ensures that student members of the College behave in a healthy, disciplined and responsible manner. It looks into all complaints and deals with these in accordance with the best academic practices.

PARENT-TEACHER INTERACTION COMMITTEE

Functions: Interacting with parents/guardians at regular intervals. This Committee recommends two days in the Academic Calendar (3rd Saturday in the month of September and October for Odd Semester and 1st Saturday in the month of March and April for Even Semester) when such interaction takes place. It makes arrangements for smooth interaction during these days, besides it ensures that stakeholders are kept informed of attendance shortages through SMS messages and notices.

WOMEN CELL

Functions: This cell is set up to develop a gender sensitive and congenial work atmosphere so that women at MRCE are not subjected to gender specific discrimination or sexual harassment.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Functions: To create an interface between graduate students and MRCE. The Alumni Association is a registered society with its own bank account and governance structure. Besides organizing an alumni meet, it is empowered to obtain feedback from Alumni and to carry out tracer studies.
